About the Guild

The Guild’s primary function is to serve Catholic medical and other health care professionals.

In general, the Guild supports the aims of the national Catholic Medical Association.

Specifically, the Guild promotes:

  • Catholic teaching about medicine and science
  • Best ethical practice in clinical care and research
  • Spiritual support: Mass, Prayer, and annual retreat
  • Respect for individual conscience and freedom of religion
  • Upholding the intrinsic value and dignity of life at all stages
  • Opportunities for bioethics education and awareness
  • Workshops and an annual conference for members
  • Social opportunities for interaction and fellowship
  • Lobbying Ohio legislature on health and faith based issues
  • Patient/family spiritual & bioethics support
  • Parish outreach on the role of faith in healthcare/medicine
